Professor Kambiz Badie was born into a highly distinguished and cultured family. He was the grandson of *Dr. Badie al-Hokama*, a renowned physician devoted to serving the underprivileged, a supporter and caregiver of the celebrated mystic poet Aref Qazvini, and the son of *Dr. Engineer Nasser Badie*, Iran\u2019s first urban planning engineer and the founder of the Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture.<\/p>\n
He was also the nephew of *Dr. Amir Mehdi Badie*, the renowned philosopher and author of the distinguished series Greeks and Barbarians, *Professor Mansour Badie*, an eminent surgeon and physician, *Dr. Mahmoud Badie*, who held a doctorate in the history of Persian literature, *Ms. Maryam Badie*, a pioneer in contemporary arts and literature, and the brother of *Dr. Farhad Badie*, a graduate of advanced management studies at Harvard University\u2019s Center for Management Studies.<\/p>\n
Kambiz Badie graduated as the top-ranked student of Alborz High School and was admitted with distinction to Sharif University of Technology. Having received a scholarship from the Japanese government for outstanding talents, he obtained his bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, doctoral, and postdoctoral degrees in electrical and electronic engineering, specializing in artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Upon returning to Iran, he began working at the Iran Telecommunication Research Center. Over the years, he was responsible for planning and directing key research projects, alongside numerous executive positions, including: Director of the Information Society Group, Director of the Information Technology Applications Group, Head of the Information Technology Research Center, and Deputy for Research and Development of Scientific Communications, at the Institute for Communications and Information Technology. At the same time, he served as the editor-in-chief of the institute\u2019s international journal Information & Communication Technology Research (IJICTR) from its inception.<\/p>\n
Among his honors were the following: member of the team testing the Mizan 2000 and 2500 systems (winner of third place for innovation at the Khwarizmi Festival), member of the team leading the Tehran Cybernetic Hand research project (winner of the first prize for applied research at the Khwarizmi Festival), National Outstanding Researcher of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, recipient of the Shahid Rajaei Festival award from the Iran Telecommunication Research Center, Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Distinguished Researcher of the Institute for Communications and Information Technology.<\/p>\n
His major activities, lectures, and research papers in recent years focused on areas such as machine learning, cognitive modeling, and knowledge processing and generation in general, and analogical knowledge engineering, experience modeling, and interpretation-process modeling in particular, with an emphasis on creating new ideas, techniques, and content. Dr. Badie was an active researcher in artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies, and was highly motivated to apply intelligent and cognitive models in fields related to information technology. He authored and translated various books in Persian and English and contributed to the preparation of more than three hundred scientific and research papers in the fields of processing and pattern recognition, artificial intelligence and soft computing, systems and cybernetics, and \u2026 in ISI and scientific-research journals and reputable domestic and international conferences. He was also among the veteran professors teaching artificial intelligence-based courses at leading universities in the country.<\/p>\n
Among his additional scientific and professional activities were membership on the founding and governing boards of many scientific associations, including the Iranian Computer Society, the Intelligent Systems Association, and the Iranian E-Learning Association, as well as active collaboration with the Iranian Neuropsychology Association and seminars on the brain, cognition, and behavior, membership in the scientific and executive committees of numerous international conferences, and membership on the editorial boards of several scientific-research journals at the national and international levels.<\/p>\n
He was a full professor and senior advisor to the Institute for Communications and Information Technology, an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of the University of Tehran, an invited member of the Academy of Sciences in the field of electrical and computer engineering, and a member of the Artificial Intelligence Think Tank in the Academy of Sciences\u2019 Engineering Sciences Group.<\/p>\n
